Inspired by Twitter hashtag #code2009, I posted this status, listing the programming languages I used more than briefly during 2009.  I realized the languages I listed (Python, bash, Haskell, and Emacs Lisp) happened to be my current list of favorite languages.  I'm going to do a series of small blog entries over the next few days explaining why I like each of these languages and what problems I have with them (or their primary implementations).
